Class 3/4 2024 - 2025
Miss Denney
A Taste of Daily Life in Class 3/4
Teacher: Miss Denney TA: Mrs Sevinc
Each morning and afternoon we complete the register in Japanese, by doing so we are learning how to share how we are feeling each day and learn another language! In 3-4D we know our well - being throughout the day is of vital importance as it means we are ready to learn ourselves and support each other in our learning.
Every morning we take on a maths puzzle or spelling challenge which wakes our brains ready for the busy day ahead. We have very hard-working children in Year 3-4 as our day consists of 4 lessons including Maths and English. We also embark on half an hour of reading for pleasure straight after lunch. Times tables practise using TTRock Stars and hearing individual readers are also essential elements of out day.
We are musicians and work with visitors from the Halle Orchestra over the academic year to inspire a musical performance composed with our input, and which is performed in the summer term to parents, carers and invited guests.
Every Friday, homework activities will be allocated, one linked to our Maths topic, the other an English task. These should also be completed by the following Wednesday.
We are a resilient class shown in our perseverance and achievements during our swimming lessons at Worsley Swimming Baths over our scheduled term. This is also evidenced in the steps taken climbing our ‘reading mountain’ which earns us a certificate of achievement when we reach the summit.
In our year 3/4 class we are promoting a love of reading and we ask you to encourage your child to read at home.
