A Taste of Daily Life in Class 1/2

Teacher: Mrs Aspden TA: Miss Singleton

Our classroom doors open at 8.45, by Mrs Aspden and Miss Singleton ready for our day to begin with a smile on everyone’s faces while we take part in collective worship. We start our day with our English lesson where we choose different books to read and complete lessons to support the children’s learning.

After English we have playtime, this gives us a chance to use the fitness equipment outside or take part in the range of playground games with our friends. After playtime, it’s time to refuel with milk and toast

Our next lesson of the day is Phonics where the children work hard to learn new sounds, blend them together and read new words.

After lunch is Maths, where we follow the White Rose Maths curriculum. Throughout the week we also practice our timetables and arithmetic.

After we have had our playtime to recharge ourselves we are ready to complete our topic lessons of Science, History, Geography, Religious Education, Music, Computing and Art & Design.

At the end of each day, we finish with a story that we have chosen. Developing a love of reading continues to be of great importance. We will be encouraging your child to read for pleasure as much as possible at home, alongside our whole class reader.

We acknowledge achievements by receiving stickers and Dojo points and being praised for our achievements in assemblies.

Our classroom is a happy, safe place, just the right environment to learn and have fun. Each child will be supported to flourish into confident and unique individuals.
